Francis Manners Nares  (c.1790-1863)

One of the four sons of John Nares he must have been born in about 1790.  The only record we have of him that he worked for the Navy Board starting as a Temporary Clerk (Allotment Office) in 1810.  For the next 7 years he was a Temporary Clerk in the Secretary's Office.  He then did a month as Librarian before going back to the Secretary's Office as Clerk.  He retired on 23rd May 1829.  He then appears to have lived the life of a "gentleman" until he died at the Great Western Royal Hotel in Paddington on 13 Mar 1863.
