Edward Probyn Nares (c.1792-1837)

Edward was one of the three sons of John Nares about whom we have any knowledge, albeit very little.  He was a solicitor in London and was Secretary of Briefs to the Lord Chancellor and worked for the firm of John Richards and Edward Clarke in Great Ormond Street.

On 15th Mar 1825, he married his first cousin, Annie Preston, daughter of Admiral Preston (and his father's sister, Sophia), and had two children, Sophia Martha (1838-1873) and Edward.

He is buried in Llansantffraed Churchyard near Abergavenny, alongside his sister-in-law and five of her children who all died of scarlet fever.
